El Palacio de Hierro, Guadalajara, Mexico

El Palacio De Hierro received the award for its architectonically impressive store in Guadalajara in the west of Mexico, which brings international luxury and fashion brands together in ten different departments. The store layout is characterised by unusual creativity and maintains a perfect balance between brand identity and integrated boutiques stocked with international brands. The customer is guided intuitively from one shop to the next so that he or she is always discovering something new. Accordingly, not so much buying in itself, but the experience of shopping is in the foreground.

Elord Golf Fashion as golf brand in Korea combines functionality with high fashion, which finds expression in the retail premises – the result is the stand-alone flagship store in Seoul, which received the 2010 EuroShop RetailDesign Award. The building itself was planned as a massive bunker, suggesting the green beyond that every golfer would like to reach. Inside, direct references to the sport can be found practically everywhere: walls covered with leather which normally is used for golf bags; marker flags as hanging racks, or "exploded" golf balls for the presentation of accessories.

Bold architecture, an authentic material mix and excitingly displayed merchandise make the Bründl flagship store a fascinating place – and were the reasons why the jury felt it deserved the award.
The store design is inspired by the physiognomy of the alpine landscape. Thanks to the open roof and the view to the outside, nature and outdoor events are all-present throughout the store.
